Facebook Rolls Out ‘Save’ Feature
August 11, 2014Facebook users have an exciting new tool on their News Feed: a bookmarking ‘Save’ feature.
With ‘Save’, users can bookmark content to revisit later. The average Facebook user scrolls through a large amount of information on their News Feed each day. The ‘Save’ feature allows them to easily access links, Pages, videos, music and more at a later time – without the hassle of re-scrolling through content or searching.
So, what does this mean for businesses?
This feature can help business owners bring in new customers. When you see your friend check in at a restaurant on Facebook that catches your eye, you now have the ability to save the restaurant’s Page for later. This, coupled with Facebook’s displayed star rating on every check-in, can drive new traffic to local businesses. Users can bookmark businesses that they are interested in and revisit the Pages later.
Facebook will even provide occasional reminders of your saved items in your News Feed! This way, you won’t forget about that cool restaurant that caught your attention last weekend.
